A Beautiful Place called, “Crows Nest”
Part of my job as an architectural and real estate photographer in Victor Harbor and the Fleurieu Peninsula is tell a story, so when I first came to the solar-powered electric gates of 395a Crow’s Nest Road (Port Elliot), I knew this house had an incredible story to tell. As it happened, I was right!
When the briefing for Crow’s Nest landed in my inbox, the realtors (Raine & Horne – Victor Harbor), told me that I would be dealing with a two-storey home with 360 degree views that was situated on over 7 acres of land!
So how was I to tell this story visually? The house and landscape are dramatically different at different times of the day. Well, we decided to photograph the house in three stages: morning, late afternoon and twilight.
The final outcome was a series of images that showcased and separated each element almost making it three different homes. This was definitely a challenging home, but a challenge I thoroughly enjoyed, which is another reason why I love my job!
From the North you have the picturesque views of the rolling hills of Hindmarsh Valley. In one instance, you are taken away from the city and coastal life and transformed into the peace and quiet of country living. I found several cost spots where I could imagine myself curling up with a good book and a glass of wine, casually watching the Kangaroos while I stare off into the never-ending landscape.
From the East you have your own personal lookout overseeing the Fleurieu Peninsula coastline from Lake Alexandrina, the Coorong and Goolwa. Standing on the upstairs entertainment balcony, taking in this remarkable views while breathing the clean country air was enough to rejuvenate my own mind and body! There is something so peaceful about watching the ocean; in particular, the large and roaring waves of Goolwa!
And finally from the South-West you have views of the city of Victor Harbor, which means by day you can you can sit back and listen to the native birds cheerfully singing while watching over Granite Island, the Bluff and the heart of the South Coast, Victor Harbor. On a late summer evening, watch magnificent sunsets fade away to transforming our town into a sea of twinkling city lights.
When the photos were delivered to Raine & Horne, Victor Harbor, here is what Joanne Dean had to say:
“We have been working with Angela Giles of AG Photography for approx. 18 months now, taking photos of the properties we list for sale on the South Coast and Fleurieu Peninsula. We have been extremely impressed with every photo shoot she has produced for us.
We recently listed lifestyle a property at 395A Crow’s Nest Road Port Elliot. The home is situated on the hilltops above Victor Harbor and enjoys fabulous views from all directions, incorporating the coastlines of Port Elliot and Middleton, to the Coorong, the hills and countryside and down the valley over Victor Harbor to Granite Island and the Bluff at Encounter Bay.
Angela managed to capture the quality of the views and depict the excellence of the home in every shot, while maintaining the integrity of the property. Her artistic flair provides us with unique and individual photos to utilise to help our properties stand out from the crowd and pique the interest of prospective clients.
Angela is constantly evolving her work, and expanding her tools of trade to produce the very best and up-to-the-minute photography, and we are benefitting from this.
Im am very pleased to recommend Angela Giles of AG Photography to any prospective client.”
